Blush: Rooftop Terrace, an elevated dining experience atop the Alexandra Inn, is seeking a Front of House Manager to lead our service team for the 2025 season. Located on the fifth floor, Blush offers stunning views, craft cocktails, and a carefully curated dinner menu. This is a full-time, seasonal role with employment ranging from March – October, annually.
Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the Front of House Manager is responsible for overseeing all front-of-house operations, including staffing, training, scheduling, and service execution. This position requires strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to manage a fast-paced, seasonal restaurant in a boutique hotel setting. This individual must work closely and alongside the Head Chef and Assisant Hotel General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Staffing & Training: Recruit, hire, and train bartenders and servers to maintain high service standards.
- Service Operations: Oversee daily service, ensuring smooth and efficient front-of-house operations.
- Scheduling: Create and manage front of house staff schedules based on business needs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Chef and Assistant Hotel General Manager on restaurant and hotel events.
- Inventory Management: Assist with bar and beverage inventory, including keg and wine orders.
- Customer Experience: Maintain exceptional hospitality standards and promptly address guest concerns.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to health, safety, and alcohol regulations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in restaurant management (front-of-house necessary).
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Experience creating staff schedules and managing labor costs.
- Knowledge of cocktails, wine, and beverage service.
- Proficiency with Toast POS (preferred).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (kegs, wine cases, etc.).
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Excel experience to track beverage costs.
- Ability to create and tweak a beverage menu in collaboration with the Head Chef, Director of Operations, and ownership team.
- Ability to foster strong relationships with staff, vendors, and customers.
