ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety-oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines
- Support the quality department by responding to customers’ calls regarding quality related questions
- Perform product verification tests to verify parts meet customer specifications
- Enter customer concerns into the database and provide necessary follow-up:
- Assist and support all departments with the corrective action system
- Assist leadership with root cause analysis as needed
- Follow up and verify corrective action with the help of the audit team
- Wordsmith and send corrective action responses to customers as required
- Provide data from corrective action system as requested for quality system improvement
- Maintain corrective action database
- Review items for document control system and assist in updating the system as needed:
- Send out emails of documents that are coming due and overdue
- Follow up on outstanding documents
- Enter updates into the system
- Continuously improve the company quality system and results by using ISO9000 as a guideline
- Assist and plan internal ISO audits
- Make accurate, easy to use SmartScope programs to verify product
- Audit the Quality System in all areas to verify compliance
- Maintain the calibration system to include equipment tracking, equipment calibration scheduling and overall calibration of equipment maintenance using Calibration Recall software
- Read and analyze customer blueprints and specifications to understand product requirements
- By use of necessary measurement equipment, determine the conformance of the part to the customer specifications and maintain proper and accurate records as to the test results
- Collect and analyze data to assist with proper die corrections
- Assist with Internal ISO audits at Alexandria Extrusion MidAmerica (AEM)
- Assist in customer visits and quality audits as needed
- Work to shorten all QC checks using SPC as basis, to minimize equipment downtime
- Work with all department in the best interest of improving processes and procedures through means of data collection
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent degree required
- Associate’s degree in quality management or related program preferred
- ASQ Certification preferred
- Experience:
- 2 years of manufacturing experience required
- Previous quality/customer service experience required
- Auditing experience preferred
- Previous blueprint reading experience required
- Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to recognize safety concerns
- Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent blueprint reading skills with a good understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Familiarity with the ISO 9001 requirements
- Excellent customer relations skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledgeable in root cause analysis and corrective action
- Ability to take part in continuous education and training
- Excellent time management skills
