Purpose :
The Community Education Inclusion Specialist will support children with diverse abilities and needs within Community Education programs (Early Education & Compass, School Age Childcare), ensuring every child receives individualized care, resources, and support in an inclusive, welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Inclusion Planning and Staff Training : Develop individualized inclusion plans for children and provide training for staff to ensure effective implementation and support.
- Inclusive Environment Development : Collaborate with staff to create activities and environments that are inclusive and welcoming for children of all abilities.
- Advocacy and Support : Act as a resource and advocate for children, parents, and staff, actively promoting an inclusive approach within the program.
- Instruction and Awareness : Deliver lessons to both large and small groups on cultural acceptance, social-emotional development, differing abilities, and linguistic awareness.
- Accommodations and Modifications : Make necessary adjustments to curriculum, lessons, and learning environments to meet the needs of all children.
- Ongoing Staff Development : Provide continuous training and support to staff on strategies for working effectively with children who have unique challenges and abilities.
