Job Overview
A fast-paced and friendly solo practitioner law office is seeking a full-time paralegal (40 h / week) (hybrid remote 2 days / in office 3 days after 4 weeks of training) for support with landlord / tenant matters (tenants and small landlords with 1-50 rental units) and providing services locating attorneys for other matters that come into the office.
You Must Be :
An excellent communicator, curious minded, a quick learner and independent starter, team player, with a keen attention to detail, a concise and persuasive speaking and writing tone, have a proficiency in Word products, Dropbox, Google products, as well as an existing understanding of legal processes, the ability to find things quickly, and have a strong commitment to protecting confidentiality and privilege.

Key Responsibilities of the Position
Candidates will be responsible for conducting legal research, preparing legal documents, communicating with clients, lawyers, courts, and others, as well as managing office documents and files.
Key responsibilities and duties of a paralegal at our office include :
Conducting legal research of court rules, statutes, case law, other and legal precedents to support the attorney in case preparation.
Researching organizations, attorneys, people, and for matters using public property records, court records, Nevada Revised Statutes, State or local Court Rules, State Bar association websites, legal aid organization websites, and otherwise using Google, social media, or other online resources for research purposes.
Preparing legal documents, drafting memos, pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with court rules in litigation matters, e-filing and service using electronic court systems.
Preparing eviction notices, complaints, motions, appeal papers, and other documents required for eviction proceedings, e-filing and service using electronic court systems.
Proper management of mail, case files, and office documents by organizing, maintaining, and updating all paper and electronic files, including correspondence, pleadings, and all other documents and files.
Communicating by phone calls, emails, texting and letter with clients, lawyers, courts, nonlawyers, scheduling meetings, appointments, travel, and following up on inquiries.
Qualifications
Proven experience as an excellent paralegal
Three years of experience in a litigation office
Strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet all deadlines
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Experience electronically filing and serving documents in State and Federal courts
Experience in legal research tools
Experience with MyCase and FastCase a plus, but not required
Experience in landlord / tenant law a plus, but not required
A certificate or degree in paralegal studies or criminal justice is a plus, but not required
