General
The Administrative Assistant is an hourly position and is eligible to work up to 24 hours per week Monday through Thursday. This person is accountable to the Lead Pastor. The Administrative Assistant supports the mission of the church by handling the administrative and business tasks, and assisting in ministry details to free program staff members to focus on their primary roles.
Schedule
The Administrative Assistant is expected to maintain office hours as established by the church, Monday, through Thursday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m..
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
- Three years of Administrative Assistant experience
- A friendly, welcoming, positive attitude and professional manner
- Strong computer skills in Google Docs, or ability to transfer skills from MS Office
- Strong communication skills and creative ability
- Can work alone or in a team setting
Preferred Qualification:
- Experience working in a church setting
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and send correspondence
- Receive and distribute mail
- Maintain established office hours
- Answer phones/take messages
- Receive and assist visitors to the church office in a positive and friendly manner
- Order/receive basic office supplies
- Update digital signage with input from ministry staff
- Manage the dial call system
- Maintain all church congregational records
- Prepare and place weekly printed documents for worship
- Create and distribute electronic church newsletter, weekly update and other communications using Constant Contact
- Assist in updating the Aley website as needed in coordination with other staff members
- Manage the altar flower program
- Prepare annual reports for charge conference, Great Miami River District and the West Ohio Conference
- Maintain church calendar to include room assignments for groups
- Coordinate with Trustees for use of Aley facilities for non-church related activities
- Take and distribute meeting minutes for quarterly Aley staff meetings
- Attend Aley staff member “chat” meetings twice a month
- Work closely with the Pastor(s) and program staff to accomplish the mission of the church
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.50 - $18.00 per hour
