POSITION SUMMARY: The Day Camp Coordinator has the general responsibility to organize and implement a diverse and safe day camp program and manage the work of assigned staff and/or volunteers. The Day Camp Coordinator serves as the second-in-command within the structure of our day camp program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure compliance with all AYCC policies and procedures.
- Foster a work environment that’s inclusive, as well as diverse, where people can be themselves.
- Carrying out daily camp programming through direct involvement with staff and campers.
- Provide council, advice and daily supervision for Group Coordinators and camp counselors.
- Participate and lead in the development of weekly themes and implementation of special events.
- Leads by example and direction, expressing the importance of YMCA values, camper safety, and enthusiastic fulfillment of program objectives.
- Provides supervision to all campers.
- Meets weekly with the Camp Director to review program plans, plan future events and to discuss camp related issues.

WORK SCEHDULE: Seasonal / Mon-Friday – 7am-4pm
Requirements:KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Possess a Bachelor Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Education, or other related field. In lieu of a degree, prior work experience at Camp Tracy or other like disciplines will be preferred.
- 21 years or older
EXPERIENCE:
- Strong background in organizing, scheduling, marketing, and human relations skills.
- Experience with youth camp or youth programming
- Experience working with young staff and children
- Prior management/supervisor experience
