Part-time Instructional Support Assistant - Health Information Technology

Responsibilities

  • Assists faculty with new student on-boarding through Academic Advising Course.
  • Creates and maintains HIT student folders and tracking forms.
  • Maintain curriculum statistical and informational reports.
  • Responsible for graduate and employer survey correspondence and maintaining survey results.
  • Assists Health Information Technology (HIT) faculty with course updates in LMS.
  • Monitor and update noncredit ExamPrep courses.
  • Attends academic program and department meetings.
  • Works with requesting colleges to negotiate 1 1 articulation agreements with career colleges and community colleges that do not offer such programs (to continue increasing Alfred State's HIT and CRS academic program enrollment).
  • Responsible for correspondence with workforce development relationships
  • Assists Program Director with annual reporting requirements.
Required

Job Requirements:

  • Associate degree in health information technology, business administration, office technology or related field.
  • Experience with interacting effectively with colleagues, staff, students, and administrators.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, to include Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Preferred

  • Associate degree in health information technology from CAHIIM-accredited institution
  • RHIT credential, or RHIT eligible
  • Work experience in a health information management (HIM) department in a healthcare facility
  • Familiarity with online learning management system
