Description
SUMMARY: Plan, organize and lead the company’s production operations. Optimize the utilization of all resources under their control to safely manufacture quality products, deliver on time and be the low-cost producer for the products/services produced. Lead company teams to provide total customer satisfaction.
FUNDAMENTAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operations
- Achieve optimum profitability both short and long-term, through effective management and utilization of all resources (man, machine, materials, method & measurement).
- Direct the safe manufacturing of all products to established specifications while meeting compliance with governmental regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
- Develop and implement processes and procedures designed to eliminate operating inefficiencies while improving product quality and achieving customer satisfaction, profit, and growth goals.
- Develop and execute strategic plans for production, while maintaining alignment with company and corporate objectives.
Team Development
- Select, train, develop, lead, and evaluate production personnel.
- Identify and Initiate training/development for production management (Soft & Hard skills).
- Identify and Initiate capacity expansion thru extension or creation of operating hours based on production demand.
- Execute cross-training to ensure equipment staffing during planned absences or production demand .
Quality and Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement new technology, equipment, and processes for all operations.
- Develop and execute LEAN management best practices to increase production efficiency while decreasing cost.
- Identify, Initiate, and prioritize continuous improvement projects.
- Develop and execute procedures and processes required to maintain ALG’s ISO certification.
- Lead resolution of customer complaints thru established processes.

Requirements
BASE SKILLS AND BUSINESS COMPETENCIES:
- Team Leader/Team Builder: Experienced sourcing, hiring, evaluating, developing, and leading high-performing production teams.
- Strategic Mindset: Proven ability to create objectives, devise and execute strategies for success (i.e. new production opportunities, new process initiatives, upgrading equipment, new technology, multiple shifts, etc.) while aligned with operating company objectives/direction.
- Business Acumen: A strong overall understanding of business matters and its effects on the operating company that results in a collaborative working approach with other functional heads (Sales, CS, Shipping, ADC, Acct/Fin, IT) to achieve overall company objectives and corporate goals.
- Industry & Product Knowledgeable: Strong background in relevant durable product manufacturing with knowledge of print/production techniques within two of the three listed: Flexo, Screen, and Digital.
- Action Oriented: A posture of decisiveness once steps are identified and a clear and timely communicator of those steps (self-directed, disciplined, procedural).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ten (10) years’ experience in print manufacturing environment or related field.
- Five (5) years’ experience in progressive leadership roles in a print manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Printing, Operations Management, or similar discipline preferred.
- Demonstrated strong technical and product knowledge of the durable label printing and converting industry.
- Demonstrated experience leading continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated experience with information systems within manufacturing applications.
Salary : $121,000 - $153,000
