We are seeking a Controller to join our team at Algonquin Industries. This pivotal role will oversee all financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting and compliance with accounting standards. The Controller will play an essential part in maintaining our financial integrity while supporting our growth objectives.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of corporate accounting and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger activities.
- Prepare accurate financial statements and reports for management review.
- Supervise the accounting team and provide guidance on best practices.
- Implement financial controls to safeguard company assets.
- Evaluate financial performance and provide strategic recommendations for improvement.
- Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors as necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
- Proven experience as a Controller or similar role in manufacturing or related industry.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and corporate accounting principles.
- Proficiency in financial software and QuickBooks is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership skills with experience supervising finance teams.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration across departments.
