The Alicart Restaurant Group, the name behind the award winning, popular brands Carmine’s NYC Family Style Italian and Virgil’s Real BBQ is in search for an experienced and detailed oriented Multi Unit Payroll Processer The selected candidate will work with different locations and brands in New York City, New Jersey and DC area to maintain our payroll processes and ensure accurate and seamless weekly payrolls.
The Role:
The Temporary Payroll Specialist Position is responsible for reviewing and processing source data to provide accurate and timely entry to payroll processing systems and sub-systems, ensuring accuracy of payroll processing in accordance with The Alicart Restaurant Group's payroll policies, and federal and multi-state regulations and statutes, ensuring the reliability of corporate payroll disbursement records, and promoting operational efficiency. This position may perform specific administrative responsibilities, including highly confidential issues regarding employee and/or Company issues. This position will work with multiple restaurant locations in Manhattan and collaborate extensively with the corporate office.
Essential Functions Include:
- Compiles and computes payroll data, such as hours worked and leave time used from various sources, i.e., ADP, time sheets, Aloha, and Workforce System, and other records.
- Computer data entry of Direct Deposits, time off requests, additional income and deductions.
- Reviews wages computed and corrected errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
- Records changes affecting net wages, such as exemptions, insurance coverage to update master payroll records.
- Assists in the processing of payroll tax reporting and payment as requested.
- Processes Employee Wage Assignments, such as child support withholding, garnishments, levies
- Ensures all employees are punching for all shifts and meal breaks and that any edits are maintained accurately and completely
- Anticipates ongoing changes, problems, and opportunities in order to maintain effective systems and procedures.
- Maintains all payroll records and files in accordance with policy.
- Prepares and issues paychecks.
- Ensures all new hire paperwork is complete and timely for processing.
Qualifications:
- Minimum one (1) year of payroll processing experience. Previous payroll experience required.
- Uses excellent judgment and tact in day-to-day activities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate in English both verbal and written.
- Maintain manual dexterity to access computer via computer keyboard and operate office equipment.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize required.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Bilingual preferred (Spanish a plus).
