POSITION SUMMARY:
This person will handle their own product as well as assume responsibility for the development of any individual on their team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Measure and analyze samples prior to fittings
- Run fittings
- Update/create technical flat sketches as well as construction diagrams
- Manage your own workload (as well as the workload of any direct reports) to ensure product deliverables are still being met
- Communicate to all agents/vendors and factories regarding contents of tech pack: corrections to samples and patterns utilizing technical sketches, garment construction / engineering details, grading and labeling and shipping requirements.
- Manage the flow of information related to fit process, communicating fit outcomes with functional partners
- Interact with Patternmakers, peers and cross functional partners from Design, Product Development, Sales and Tech while executing the prototypes and production samples.
- Organize and maintain data history and speak to the information with VPs
REQUIRMENTS:
- 4-Year College Degree: training in Technical Design a plus
- Technical Design experience in high end dresses and blouses.
- 5 years’ experience in Technical Design
- Exposure to all product categories but with a particular focus on Wovens
- Excellent communication, organizational, attention to detail and follow-up skills
- Knowledge of Wovens garment construction methods
- Adaptive to a multi-tasked environment
- Proficient in PC applications including MS Word, Excel and Outlook Express. PLM.
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator
- Advanced Understanding of pattern corrections
- Ability to evaluate fit problems on live models
- Advanced Understanding of Grade Rules
$70,000 - $80,000 base salary (This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this NYC - based position. The base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience and qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other AO employees.)
