Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Daycare Floater to join our team. In this role, you will be assist lead teachers and create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. You will play a crucial role in their development by providing age-appropriate activities and fostering social, emotional, and cognitive growth. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and the ability to build positive relationships with both children and their families.
The time slots we're looking to fill are 10-2 and 1:30-5:30pm.
Requirements: HS Diploma/Ged, current CPR/First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens, TB Test, MERIT Background Clearance, and 30 HR Stars.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times.
- Plan and implement daily activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development.
- Foster a positive learning environment by encouraging curiosity and exploration.
- Communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the daycare space to ensure a healthy environment.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive team atmosphere.
- Observe and assess children's developmental milestones and report findings as necessary.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience and empathy when working with children of varying ages and backgrounds.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles.
- Knowledge of child development principles is preferred but not required.
- First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
- Flexibility in adapting to the needs of children and changes in the daily schedule.
