This is a TENTATIVE assignment and will be based on student enrollment.
**Must have fulfilled 2024-2025 contract days before summer school pay initiates.**
Double dipping is not permitted.
Description: Teacher will work with Emergent Bilingual (EB) students who are recent newcomers to the United States.
Qualifications:
- Current permanent full-time Alief ISD employee
- Certified in appropriate content and grade level
- ESL or Bilingual certification is required
- Experience working with Emergent Bilingual Beginner students
- SIOP or Sheltered Instruction trained is required
Courses Offered:
Grades 4-8: English Language Development through Science and Social Studies
Grades 9-11:High School Courses: Reading, Choir, Art, Technology, Keyboarding, Health, P.E., and Foundations of Fitness
Length of Employment:
Professional Learning Day (Saturday, April 26, 2025 – paid 7 hours)
Workday (Monday, June 2, 2025 – paid 8 hours)
Dates: June 3-June 26, (Mon-Thu), Week 3: June 16, 17, 18, 20
School Hours 7:30 am to 3:30 pm
Salary: $35.00 per hour
