Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Optometric Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist our optometrists in providing excellent eye care services to our patients.
Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary testing on patients, including measuring visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and other vital signs
- Conduct diagnostic tests as required by the optometrist
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Verify medical billing and insurance claims
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations in all patient interactions
- Familiarity with Contact Lens material and training patients for first time wear.
- Familiarity with Epic or similar electronic health record systems is a plus
Requirements
- Previous experience in a medical office setting, preferably in optometry or ophthalmology
- Knowledge of contact lens terminology and retail math for contact lens sales
- Proficiency in conducting preliminary eye exams and diagnostic tests
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
- Understanding of verifying medical procedures and insurance verification
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 32 per week
