Position Summary:
Supports accounting operations by performing complete accounting services. Provides support as needed to Management in preparation of account analysis, budgeting and forecasting, cash management, assisting in financial reporting preparation and other accounting functions. Prepares monthly reports utilizing accounting applications. Audit, reconcile and balance financial records for assigned location / function. Create and monitor accruals on a regular basis. Monitor trends and changes in accounting activity. Conduct research on discrepancies in accounts and / or reports for assigned area. Create and analyze income statements and balance sheets for assigned areas. Support Assistant Controller, Corporate Controller and CFO in preparation for annual financial audit.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assists in budgeting and forecasting process and executing financial terms
- Review financial data regularly to ensure that activities are proceeding as per regulations and company policy.
- Assist management in review and analyzing cash management on a weekly basis.
- Prepares monthly and annual accounts to monitor profits, and preparing projections and budgets for planning cash flows and profits.
- Assists in setting up control procedures at various levers to ensure that information in the accounts does not vary with physical verification.
- Prepares and processes journal entries with appropriate backup.
- Investigates and recommend process improvements for correcting accounting errors.
- Reviews AP posting to ensure that costs are reported to budgeted accounts and to the correct department.
- Prepares financial statements and accounts analysis in time and in accordance with statutory regulations and audit requests.
- Assist Corporate Controller and CFO with preparation and consolidation of annual budget.
- Creates monthly budget versus actual reports and variances analysis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance. Master Degree in Accounting preferred.
- CPA preferred.
- 4 years of auditing/accounting/finance experience in a corporate environment.
- Experience gained in a healthcare business environment preferred.
- Ability to provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
- Ability to effectively listen, process received information, and express ideas both orally and in writing in English
- Ability to initiate action, take personal responsibility, suggest improvements, and solve problems within scope of job without being asked
- Ability to understand and comply with government, regulatory, and company rules.
- Ability to record, report, and maintain confidentiality of information and respond to requests for information.
- Ability to get assigned work done in an acceptable manner, in the time allotted, with minimal prompting or reminders
