CHAPEL WORSHIP LEADER TITLE: Chapel Worship Leader

PURPOSE: This position exists to plan and implement a music and worship program for the Chapel worship experience. The ALIVE Worship Department exists to reach spiritually hungry people and introduce them to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, by creating excellent worship environments week in and week out. ALIVE’s goal is to create worship environments that please God, attract people, and inspire faithfulness. The Chapel Worship Leader will plan and implement a traditional music and worship program that creates a classic setting - selecting music which holds tightly to the foundational hymns as well as embraces God-focused music of today.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership: 1. Develop short and long-term plans for the worship program of the Chapel worship service. Lead the Chapel service to assist in fulfilling the ALIVE mission. 2. Lead the Chapel worship planning process, including the brainstorming and planning of ideas, executing those ideas, and meeting regularly with the Chapel Leadership Team. 3. Design and develop both the flow and the content of the worship services, being careful to guard the spirit of the service, support the sermon, and maximize participation. Lead change to the service as necessary to continue to reach spiritually hungry people. 4. Recruit, develop, show appreciation, and provide pastoral care to Chapel worship volunteers. 5. Serve as a Pastoral presence in the Chapelservices -being attuned to the moving of the Spirit and the needs of those in attendance.
Musical: 1. Lead and coordinate the all aspects of congregational singing. 2. Direct and coordinate the choir and orchestra during the chapel worship services, and other special services as requested. 3. Plan and lead weekly rehearsals for the chapel vocal choir and orchestra. 4. Recruit and schedule individuals/groups to provide special music for services as needed and/or desired. 5. Facilitate hand bell choir equipment care, rehearsal schedule, and recruitment
Administrative: 1. Organize weekly rehearsals as needed for choir/groups, including the preparation of music and communication with volunteers. 2. Schedule all accompanists, special music, practice times, and locations as needed, making appropriate facility requests through the church calendar. 3. Watch over the care of equipment and building during chapel music activities, including regular tuning of instruments. 4. Regularly utilize the tools of ProPresenter and Planning Center Online as needed in preparation for Sunday Services. 5. Recruit and schedule tech volunteers to operate the AVL needs of the Chapel service. 6. In coordination with the tech volunteers, oversee the preparation of technology for the Chapel services, including: 1) The loading of all worship elements into ProPresenter, 2) Preparation for sound needs, and 3) Relevant stage setup and preparation.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING The ideal person for this position would have: 1. At least 2 years of experience leading in a "ministry” environment 2. At least a minimum level of formal musical training 3. At least a minimum level of Biblical training 4. A strong desire and ability to develop and invest in others 5. The ability to lead/navigate change.
