What are the responsibilities and job description for the PHYSICIAN – OB/GYN position at Alivio Medical Center?
SUMMARY
The Obstetrician/Gynecologist provides for the primary health care needs of women patients of Alivio Medical Center according to the philosophy and goals of Alivio and in collaboration with the Nurse-Midwifery service of Alivio Medical Center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides patient care in a specified number of clinic sessions per week
- Provides out-patient clinic consultation and in-patient backup for the Nurse-midwifery service, for a specified amount of time each month
- Admits patients to the hospital as necessary and serves as primary attending physician
- Provides comprehensive integrated patient care in cooperation with other programs at Alivio (i.e., WIC, prenatal classes, nutrition counseling, case management, health education)
- Works cooperatively with other physicians for cross-coverage of patients, both clinic and in-patient when appropriate
- Participates in Quality Assurance activities at Alivio
- Participates in data collection of the maternity service
- Co-signs in-patient midwife charts in medical records while covering as backup physician
- Attends service/staff meetings as appropriate
- Meets with the service director on a timely basis to review policies, procedures and sign protocols
- Works cooperatively and supportively with internship programs at Alivio
- Performs other related duties as assigned
This position requires compliance with all of Alivio’s written standards, including its Standards of Conduct, Joint Commission standards, all policies and procedures and Corporate Compliance requirements. Compliance will be considered as part of the regular performance evaluation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Graduate of Accredited medical school with degree of Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy. Completion of Accredited residency program.
Certification or Licensure:
- Board certification in specialty or board-eligible (within the allowable period of time post-graduation). Unrestricted license to practice within Illinois. Current DEA certificate.
Experience:
- Three to five years experience in a community health center. Knowledge of information system, managed care and financial operation
Special Training:
- ACLS certification. (CPR)

SALARY RANGE - Commensurate with qualifications and experience
$250,000 - $300,000
