Job Summary

Administrative assistants perform a variety of tasks to support the efficient operation of a department or organization.

Job Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Managing schedules : Organizing appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements
  • Handling communication : Answering phone calls, responding to emails, and managing mail and fax communications
  • Creating and distributing documents : Producing and distributing correspondence, memos, letters, faxes, and forms
  • Maintaining systems : Developing and maintaining filing systems, contact lists, and databases
  • Ordering supplies : Ordering office supplies and food deliveries
  • Providing support : Welcoming visitors, providing general support, and answering questions
  • Planning events : Helping to plan events and preparing meeting agendas
  • Supporting staff : Developing administrative staff by providing information and educational opportunities
  • Maintaining equipment : Ensuring equipment operates by completing preventive maintenance and calling for repairs
  • Supporting supervisors : Helping to manage supervisors' schedules
