Job Requirements:
This position reports to the Plant Controller of the Marshalltown Operation of the Sealing Division of Alkegen. The Financial Analyst role is part of a team that is onsite in Marshalltown, IA. This is a hybrid role with Mon- Thurs in office and Fri being remote. This position will be responsible for the Accounts Payanble, Accounts Receivable functions and be significantly involved with the Month End close process for the Marshalltown manufacturing plant. In addition, this position will also be responsible for various other duties throughout each month revolving around other aspects of finance and accounting.
Responsibilities: Qualifications/ Experience:
- Accounts Payable - ensuring vendors are paid timely and accurately
- Accounts Receivable - ensuring customers are accurately invoiced and customer cash receipts are promptly and accurately applied.
- Month end close duties – journal entries, various reporting and ad-hoc analysis
- Monthly General Ledger account reconciliations
- Work with external auditors during annual audit
- Maintenance of AP vendors within ERP
- Monitor various monthly control metrics relating to reconciliation and journal entry documentation
- Prepare and complete various reports/information revolving around plant performance metrics
Other:
- Must adhere to all company and location policies and safety rules
- Must be able to work extended hours when required
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications/ Experience:
- Two (2) or more years of accounting experience – specifically participating in a monthly close process
- Fundamental understanding of Income Statement preparation and analysis
- Fundamental understanding of Balance Sheet account reconciliations
- Must be proficient in Excel (vlookups, pivot tables)
- Must have prior ERP experience.
- Spreadsheet Serve experience is a plus but not required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management and priorities management skills
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Computer literate with knowledge of Excel.
- Ability to interact with vendors and internal customers
- Metrics driven analysis
