Toddler Development Specialist

Job Summary

The Toddler Teacher reports to the Director or Assistant Director. The Toddler Teacher provides the children with developmentally appropriate activities, provides a nurturing environment, and interacts with the children, their parents, staff members, and volunteers.

Major function / responsibilities:

The Toddler Teacher is responsible for:

• Room coverage at lunch and other times when necessary
• Maintain classroom control, management, and sanitation
• Provide a normal routine by maintaining daily schedule adherence
• Must keep the Director and Assistant Director informed concerning staff members, children, and parental issues.
• Maintaining the Center’s policies and procedures
• Attend on-going training
• Additional duties as neededThe Toddler Teacher must adhere to the policies and procedures of All About Kids. He / she is responsible for classroom safety and sanitation. The Toddler Teacher must be able to maintain a friendly / professional rapport with the staff members and parents. The Toddler Teacher is responsible for supporting and implementing all decisions made by management.Demonstrate full range of motion. Be able to lift up to 40 lbs. Maintain mental and physical alertness and an appropriate level of energy to perform essential job requirements.A desire to work with children through positive interaction is required. Prior experience in childcare preferred. Continuing education classes preferred. CPR and First Aid certification will be required after employment. Background check and drug test required before the first day of work. Good time management, oral and written communication required. Dependable, flexible, and a team player required.
