Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fire Extinguisher Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with servicing, inspecting, and maintaining various types of fire suppression systems, including ABC, BC, Purple K, K-Class, and CO2 extinguishers. (Experience not required but preferred) You will be responsible for ensuring that fire protection equipment is fully operational and compliant with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections, maintenance, and testing of fire extinguishers (ABC, BC, Purple K, K-Class, CO2).
- Refill, recharge, and service extinguishers according to industry standards and regulations.
- Maintain accurate service records and provide detailed reports of work completed.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with local fire codes and NFPA standards.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients and field technicians regarding maintenance schedules and recommendations.
- Educate clients on the proper usage and maintenance of fire extinguishers.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a fire extinguisher technician or in a similar fire safety-related field.
- Familiarity with various types of fire extinguishers, including ABC, BC, Purple K, K-Class, and CO2.
- Certification or training in fire safety and fire extinguisher servicing (NFPA, NICET, or equivalent preferred).
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy equipment as needed.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with fire suppression systems in commercial or industrial settings.
- Familiarity with fire safety regulations, codes, and industry standards.
- Additional certifications related to fire safety and suppression systems.
