Certified Peer Support Specialist
Starting Wage: $19.09 per hour
Bilingual Differential: Additional $1.50 per hour

We are a growing agency dedicated to supporting children, adults, individuals with substance use disorders (SUD), and veterans in their behavioral health recovery. As a Certified Peer Support Specialist, you will use your personal experiences to foster service engagement, provide advocacy, and empower clients to navigate treatment and recovery resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish positive, supportive relationships with clients using personal recovery experience.
- Provide guidance and coaching on wellness, recovery, and coping strategies.
- Assist clients in accessing community resources and support networks.
- Encourage self-advocacy and help clients navigate service systems.
- Support clients in overcoming barriers to care, including attending appointments.
- Participate in treatment team meetings to coordinate services.
- Organize support groups, educational opportunities, and social gatherings.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with agency policies.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Certified Peer Support Worker (CPSW) certification in the state of New Mexico.
- Experience working with individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Motivational Interviewing techniques.
- Ability to work as part of a team with flexibility and initiative.
