What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher position at All For You Medical Transportation?
We are looking for a reliable Medical Transportation Dispatcher to act as a communication point for non-emergency calls. You will receive requests, transmit messages and track vehicles. The ideal candidate must be primarily an excellent communicator and able to remain calm and composed. You must be able to multi-task as well as take the appropriate action with little supervision. The goal is to enable different parties to communicate well by ensuring the accurate and timely transmission of information.
Responsibilities
- Receive non-emergency calls from vendors, nursing homes and medical facilities and record appropriate information
- Address problems and requests by transmitting information or providing solutions
- Receive and dispatch trips to drivers
- Prioritize calls according to urgency and importance
- Use phone and computer to send vehicles and drivers to appropriate locations and facilities
- Monitor the route and status of all drivers to coordinate and prioritize their schedule
Skills
- Proven experience as dispatcher or relevant position
- Must have computer based knowledge and able to perform variety of tasks electronically.
- Fast typing with experience in data entry
- Knowledge of procedures and guideline according to state and federal laws
- Ability to Cross train from dispatch as well as to driver In the case of call outs/ driver shortage's
- Must have valid drivers license and clean Background
- Able to pass a 9 panel drug test
- Proficient in English (oral and written)
- Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
- Active listener with excellent communication skills
- Sound judgement and critical thinking
- High school diploma
