Travel Package : $2,581.60 / week
M&I : $68 / day
Lodging : $110 / day
RN must be 75 miles or more from Utica, NY 13502 for TRAVEL
Also accepting LOCAL candidates within 75 miles from Utica, NY 13502
Pay : $62.50-$65.00 / hr (depending on experience)
Unit : ICU
Night Shift : 6 : 30pm-7am (Block Scheduling is never promised or guaranteed)
OT : After 48
Floating Required : Yes if needed : To all units except Behavioral and ER (unless holding)
Scrub Color : Navy
Unit Specifics : Beds : CTICU : 6
Common patient diagnosis : CV surg, Cardiogenic Shock, AAA
Drips and medications : Pressors- Levophed, Neo, Epi, Vasopressin,Dobutamine & Dopamine, Vasodilators- Cleviprex, Cardene, NTG ,Anti-arrhythmics- Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lido Sedation- Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl,TPN and Insulin
Specialty equipment used on unit : IABP, CRRT (PRISMA or NxStage) Ventriculostomy, ICP monitoring, TTM (Artic Sun)
Qualifications :
POST-OP FRESH HEART EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED - must be able to take the patient from the OR, CRRT, Impella, and IAPB.
ACTIVE NY Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
2 years of experience in ICU, SICU, CTICU, Trauma ICU, MS ICU, or Neuro ICU and documents travel experience if travel.
Bachelor’s or Associate’s in Nursing
Experience in critical care or cardiac nursing
EMR Experience Required : EPIC
Current AHA ACLS , BLS, NIHSS
Familiarity with cardiac monitoring and life support equipment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations
Understanding of current cardiac care practices and protocols
Commitment to ongoing education and professional development
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology
Responsibilities :
Monitor and assess patients' cardiovascular status continuously
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by cardiologists
Respond promptly to emergency situations, such as arrhythmias or cardiac arrest
Operate and maintain advanced cardiac monitoring equipment
Provide post-operative care for patients recovering from cardiac surgeries
Educate patients and their families about heart disease management and prevention
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan and implement individualized patient care plans
Document patient status and care provided accurately and promptly
Assist in diagnostic tests and procedures, such as echocardiograms and stress tests
Maintain a sterile environment to prevent infections
Conduct patient assessments and develop nursing interventions
