In this role, you’ll perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, working in various departments within the hospital. You will be responsible for ensuring patient comfort, selecting the appropriate equipment, and maintaining high standards of care.

- Thursday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Friday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- On-call every 3rd/4th weekend and one night during the week.
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technician to join our Radiology team. In this role, you’ll perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, working in various departments within the hospital. You will be responsible for ensuring patient comfort, selecting the appropriate equipment, and maintaining high standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams in specialty areas, including Obstetrics, Gynecology, Abdominal, and more.
- Collaborate with patients to gather relevant clinical history and prepare them for procedures.
- Use clinical judgment to select the correct transducer and imaging techniques for each exam.
- Position patients appropriately for imaging while ensuring comfort and safety.
- Assist in interventional procedures (e.g., needle localization, biopsies) and maintain aseptic techniques.
- Operate ultrasound equipment, ensuring the accuracy of results and maintaining service records.
- Provide patient education and communicate with patients regarding appointments.
- Support department’s quality improvement initiatives and assist with student training.
- Maintain inventory, perform room setup/cleanup, and manage supplies.
- Ensure confidentiality and adherence to policies while documenting patient care.
- Education/Experience:
- Completion of an AMA-accredited program in diagnostic ultrasound OR 6 months of full-time, on-the-job training.
- Registry as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS, ARRT) or registry-eligible.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound techniques.
- Proficiency in 2-D, A-mode, M-mode, B-mode, Doppler, and real-time imaging.
- Experience in Obstetrics, Gynecology, Abdominal, and peripheral vascular imaging.
- Ability to adapt techniques when necessary to ensure high-quality results.
- Must be capable of performing breast imaging for biopsies.
- Ability to work on-call and cover holidays as required.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent patient care skills.
