Title: Parish Administrator
Reports to: Rector, All Saints Church, Bay Head, New Jersey
Part-time position - Schedule to be determined in collaboration with the Rector. Not to exceed 19 regularly scheduled hours/week. (Additional hours may be necessary during peak church holiday seasons.)
Compensation: $18/hr, commensurate with qualifications.
Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Rector, the Parish Administrator provides general office support to the parish, staff, congregation and committees, in order to support the ministries and mission of All Saints Church. This work includes, but is not limited to:
- Data and records management;
- Phone and email support;
- Supplies and inventory management;
- Communications work;
- Managing use of church space by parish and outside groups;
- Assist with managing the church’s online presence (website and Facebook pages, etc.);
- Supporting church ministries and committees and collaborating with volunteers.
The Parish Administrator will be a welcoming and responsive presence in the church’s office for both members and non-members.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Welcoming disposition, willingness to accept and serve all who come to All Saints.
- Must pass background investigation to comply with church requirements.
- Strong writing and grammar skills, including proof reading.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and data base applications.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, including calendaring, project coordination, and prioritization.
- Ability to effectively manage workload.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times regarding persons and information.
- Knowledge of office etiquette.
- Basic knowledge of invoice and purchase order transactions.
- Knowledge of supply procurement, including the ability to research vendor prices and negotiate costs.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of office experience, including communications, is required.
- Experience in a church or other ministry setting is preferred.
- Associate degree in administration, communications, office support, or related area, is desired.
