Job Description
All Saints' Episcopal School is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Middle School Choir Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about music education and dedicated to inspiring young students to develop their musical talents. This position provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to the artistic and creative growth of Middle School students.
Job Responsibilities
- Play the organ or piano for Middle School chapel services, including weekly Eucharists, daily prayers, and special liturgical celebrations.
- Select and prepare hymns, anthems, and service music appropriate to the Episcopal tradition.
- Work closely with clergy, chaplains, and the music department to plan and coordinate worship services.
- Develop and conduct engaging and age-appropriate choral lessons for Middle School students.
- Foster a love of music, singing, and artistic expression.
- Choose appropriate choral music that aligns with students' skill levels and interests.
- Introduce students to a diverse range of musical styles and genres.
- Teach proper vocal techniques, including posture, breathing, tone, and diction.
- Provide individualized vocal coaching and guidance to students.
- Organize and lead regular choir rehearsals in preparation for school concerts, recitals, and performances.
- Collaborate with other music educators and school staff to coordinate events.
- Educate students on the fundamentals of music theory, sight-reading, and music history.
- Promote active participation in the school's music program.
- Evaluate and assess students' vocal and musical progress through assignments, projects, and performances.
- Provide constructive feedback and support for students' artistic development.
- Maintain an orderly and respectful classroom environment.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students during rehearsals and performances.
- Stay updated on current music education trends, methodologies, and best practices.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to curriculum enhancement.
- Serve on school committees as needed.
- Enforce school policies and rules consistently.
- Participate in daily Chapel services and weekly Eucharist services.
- Lead a Middle School Advisory Group and follow Advisor Expectations.
- Required to use technology and online platforms with 1:1 student device.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in music education, choral conducting, or a related field.
- Teaching certification or licensure.
- Proficiency in vocal and choral pedagogy.
- Have a passion for music education and inspiring Middle School students.
- Committed to creating a student-centered, engaging classroom experience.

- This position reports to the Middle School Division Head and Department Chair.
