Warehouse Supervisor

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily operations in our warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse management, logistics, and process improvement. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient distribution center operations and maintaining high standards of safety and productivity.

Duties

• Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Implement and maintain effective inventory control measures to optimize stock levels and minimize discrepancies.
• Oversee the training and development of warehouse staff, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency.
• Conduct regular inspections of the warehouse to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory, manage orders, and streamline processes.
• Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement within warehouse operations to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
• Manage heavy lifting operations safely, ensuring that all staff are trained in proper lifting techniques.
• Manages the general personnel issues for the location.
• Ensures that safety requirements are being followed and the branch is operating in a safe manner.
• Responsible for the opening and closing of facility, either personally or by direction.
• Responsible for the allocation of work and the direction of all warehouse personnel.
• Liaison for warehouse in all matters involving other departments.
• Directs maintenance operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing operational policies and procedures.
• Protects associates and visitors by maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
• Ensures vehicle standards by reporting needs of maintenance.
• Contributes to team effort by participating on improvement teams as required.
• Supports company quality system by following, understanding and practicing company policies, procedures and work instructions as described in company quality manual.
• Contributes to company success by performing any other functions as may be assigned and determined by the supervisor and such other duties as may be determined by the company and accepting full responsibility for the quality of their job and complete conformance to agree upon customer requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience in warehouse management or supervisory roles within a distribution center environment.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and best practices for workplace safety.
• Familiarity with AS400 or similar inventory management systems is preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team development and performance management.
• Experience in logistics and supply chain processes is advantageous.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement initiatives.
