We are seeking an experienced Job Cost Accountant to join our accounting and finance team. This is a non-exempt position and reports to the Senior Cost Accountant.
Essential Functions:
- Analyzing costs associated with construction projects.
- Tracking expenses related to labor, materials, subcontractors, and other costs for each job.
- Assist in Monthly Review of projects with the Project Managers
- Assist in posting monthly job accruals and Work in Progress review.
- Assist in Cap Ex Budgeting and Annual Plant Budget Process
- Preparing cost-related reports for management.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Contributing to accurate financial statements.
- 10-15% travel required, based out of West Springfield office.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Associates degree or higher in accounting or equivalent field experience
- Proficiency in cost accounting principles; construction industry preferred
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products, with strong expertise in Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills; self-motivated and curious
- Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Vista a plus
- 3-5 years of general accounting experience to include payroll, accounts payable or accounts receivable (internal applicants may be appointed with less than this)

The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate in the office to occasionally loud at field locations.
