As a staff accountant, you'll be working for multiple business units supported by Rhino Central Services. This person will be a crucial part of the finance team, with the expectation of having a strong foundation in accounting principles.
Knowdlege of:
- Microsoft office suite
- Sage or Vista Viewpoint is a plus, but not required
- Accounts receivable:
- client and job set up, prepare and process sales and AIA invoices as well as month end statements to clients, process payments, sales tax reconciliation and TPT reporting
- Accounts payable:
- Vendor set up to include W9, subcontractors MSA & insurance maintenance, and 1099 reporting, review and process vendor invoices, month end statement reconciliation, payment processing to include ACH, checks, and credit cards
- Cash management:
- Daily management/awareness, cash projections, cash account review, credit card receipt coding, data entry and monthly reconciliation
- Audit and taxes:
- Arizona state reporting of TPT, reporting for CPA, IRS 1099, City and state licenses
- Asset management:
- Maintain schedule fixed assets, Note payable set up, Amortization schedules, Work with CPA on depreciation and asset movement
- Insurance:
- General liability, Management renewals, Communicate new purchases and updates, Yearly audit compilation and negotiations
- Workman's comp:
- Payroll reporting, Yearly audit compilation and negotiations, Claim review and correspondence, Exposure reporting
- Payroll:
- Review of workman's comp coding, Job costing, Quarterly and year end reporting, Accruals-payroll and PTO
- Legal:
- Contract review, Construction lien laws, including preliminary notices and lien waivers, Lease agreements, Distributions and draws
- Complete monthly and year end accounting close processes which include inter-company reconciliation, job cost accounting, WIP, and general ledger analysis
- Maintain fixed asset additions, disposals, and depreciation
- Provide support for interim and year end audit requirements as well as ad hoc reporting and special projects
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to use best judgement to work through challenges
- Ability to adapt processes and deal with ambiguity
- Clear, effective oral and written communication skills are a must
- Must be a careful listener
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Ability to prioritize and manage workload to meet strict deadlines
