What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Programmer position at ALLAN AIRCRAFT SUPPLY CO., LLC?
Allan Aircraft is looking for a highly motivated and skilled CNC programmer eager to work in a fast-paced high mix/low volume production environment. This role requires the ability to work both independently at times as well as closely with Allan Aircrafts manufacturing team to find new and/or innovative ways of increasing machine efficiency and capabilities to meet growing production needs. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn new skills as needed and get hands on applying their own, and other teams’, ideas to solve a variety of simple and complex challenges.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Update part processes, programs, and fixturing to improve machine efficiency and quality
- Program and machine high precision, quick turn projects as well as reoccurring production jobs with the same attention to detail
- Develop configurable part programs to streamline machining of part families
- Complete machining operations from blueprints, drawings, verbal instructions, and models
- Set up, operate, and prove-out programs on a variety of equipment including, but not limited to CNC lathe (2, 5, & 6 axis), CNC Mill (vertical 3 & 5-axis), manual mill/lathe, and all other typical machine shop equipment
- Give feedback to engineers and designers, including early process reviews and receive feedback from customers to improve quality at the machine
- Ability to diligently program multi-axis and multi-tasking CNCs
- Proficient with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software
- Experience with Fanuc Macro Programming
- Experience with HSMWorks a plus
- Experience with Fanuc machine tool controls
- Experience with Renishaw probes
- Proficiency with typical precision measurement tools such as dial indicators, bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other common inspection tools
- Basic knowledge of cutting tools, and speeds and feeds for each, regardless of material type
- Experience with difficult alloys such as Inconel 625 & 718 a major plus
- Ability to read engineering prints, proficient interpretation of GD&T feature interpretation
- Basic knowledge and experience developing work holding and fixturing solutions required to complete quality, repeatable parts
- Desire to work collaboratively across several teams as needed to complete projects requiring multiple disciplines
- Strong communication skills and a desire to help achieve company goals in a dynamic and challenging environment
- Possess a strong desire to help maintain shop cleanliness and organization, and maintain a lean manufacturing environment
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to traverse and access all areas of the machine shop
- Available to work all required shift hours and be available to work overtime, and weekends, as needed
