Job Summary

AllCloud is looking for experienced and highly motivated technologists who possess technical depth and strong interpersonal skills. You are the quarterback of the professional services team, leading a group of engineers in providing highly secure, performant, and highly available cloud systems. You direct the engineers to the goal line, providing input on user stories, epics, and features needed to accomplish the work. As an AWS solution architect, you will lead technical workshops, advise customers on architectural and strategic IT decisions and design highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures that address customer business challenges. As a trusted customer advocate, the solutions architect will help organizations understand best practices around advanced AWS cloud-based solutions, and go “toe to toe” with customer senior technologists and executives that do not understand the advantages of cloud computing. The ability to connect technology with measurable business value is critical to a solutions architect.

A Presales solutions architect has “been there and done that” in designing and implementing cloud solutions. S / he has been prolific in their blogs and posts about their passion for cloud and the amazing advantages in time to market, developer productivity and happiness, fast feature delivery and accelerators by using existing AWS services to perform the grunt work for many system components. The Presales Architect has either written books, white papers, or extensive blogs on cloud computing and has spoken to large audiences and the most senior CxO levels at major corporations.

The ideal candidate is passionate to increase their deep expertise in the AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform. She / he will possess customer facing skills that will allow them to represent AllCloud well within a customer's environment and drive discussions with senior personnel within the company, as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact and give guidance with software developers and architects.

She / he should also have a demonstrated ability to think structured about business, product, and technical challenges. As an AWS solution architect, you will enjoy keeping your existing technical skills honed and developing new ones, so you can make strong contributions to deep architecture discussions.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

• Understand the customer’s business & application requirements and translate them into system / technical requirements
• Proven experience with designing and implementing cloud systems, and experience convincing senior management and senior technical staff of the benefits of their cloud journey
• Provide exceptional AWS technical design and thought leadership, especially around AWS architecture reviews, performance, high availability, cost, and security.
• Deep understanding of the Well-Architected pillars and all best practices for building a secure, performant cloud platform
• Lead technical workshops and advise customers on architectural and strategic IT decisions
• Ensure success in designing, building and migrating applications, software, and services on the AWS platform
• Educate customers on best practices to ensure their solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
• Work with other AllCloud teams to ensure quality and customer success
• Capture and share knowledge with AllCloud’s broader technical experts community
• Provide both pre-sales architecture support to drive sales along with completing cloud architectural activities and engagements
