JOB SUMMARY
Project Cost Accountant will maintain all aspects of new direct and indirect project setup and existing project maintenance in Costpoint for projects of various contract types to include Cost Plus, Time & Material, Work in Process, Fixed Price. This position is in Reston, VA and will directly support existing contracts as a billable position as well as provide operational project reporting working in conjunction with the company accounting and finance organizations. The position reports directly to the Director of Accounting. Work 3 to 4 days in the office and 1 to 2 days remote work.

Initial Project setup at award of contract (or with authorization to proceed)
Processing contract modifications
Creating new charge codes Project PLC/PLC rates additions and maintenance
Employee workforce initial setup
Collaborating with PM’s establish WBS and Initial Budget Setup
Wage Determination setup and maintenance
Collaborating with internal customers to recommend proper project setup to ensure accurate revenue recognition, billing, and cost reporting requirements are met
Ensuring Financial Accounting Policies and Processes are met while processing requests
Creating and distributing mid-month, monthly Project Status Reports (PSR’s), Revenue Summary Reports, as well as, Ad Hoc reports as requested
Resolving day to day labor errors due to improper time charging and/or setup issues
Researching and resolving revenue issues as identified by Program Managers
Troubleshooting and resolving problems in various Deltek applications (Costpoint, Time Collection) that PMs, and other internal customers come across
Serving as a liaison between company operations teams and corporate accounting and finance resources
Assist with monthly close process, account reconciliations & account analysis

job knowledge AND skills
Government Contract Accounting/Finance work experience
Costpoint 8.1 or 8.2 experience
Be able to work collaboratively and interact effectively with team members.
Be a self-starter; problem solver and be able to work independently.
Should possess effective communication skills.
Prior experience with Costpoint Project Setup and/or Billing modules is preferred
CPA and or extensive accounting experience desired but not required
Cognos Report experience desired
education/certification/job experience required
8 years relevant work experience required
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
Ability to secure and maintain Department of Defense Security Clearance if required
Must be able to pass pre-employment testing (drug and background)
