Nature and Scope
The Business Loan Processor is responsible for accurate and timely generation of loan documentation to support Allegacy’s commercial and small business loan originations. The processor is part of a team that supports our Business Services (commercial and small business) sales team in meeting closing deadlines internally and externally (attorney firms). The team provides loan documentation which ultimately mitigates Allegacy’s portfolio risk. Following loan closing, processors will book loans on our core processing system, perform post-closing reviews and set follow up for exceptions. In addition, the processor will assist in addressing exceptions during our business client audit. This position reports directly to the Business Loan Processing Supervisor.
Specific Accountabilities
- Deliver exceptional member service to every member, every time by ensuring employees deliver consistently high quality service to both internal and external member that is in alignment with our Brand Culture.
- Support the commercial lending process by producing legal and supporting documentation required for closing, modification or renewal through timely and accurate input to loan systems.
- Ensures all required pre-closing documentation is received before loan package is delivered. Communicate any gaps in the loan packet to the Business Services Specialist prior to closing.
- Manage documentation risk by ensuring documentation is in compliance with credit approval and secures a valid lien.
- Process executed loan documentation to accurately disburse loan proceeds
- Assist in pre and post-closing loan package reviews in a timely manner.
- Reviews and maintain files for completeness and accuracy within the stated guidelines provided by Allegacy, as well as, state and federal guidelines.
- Determines gaps, missing or incorrect information post-closing and sets document and financial exceptions necessary using tracking system.
- Assist in managing loan documentation and financial statement requirement ticklers in tracking system.
- Process releases and satisfactions.
- Assist in other Business Services initiatives as requested.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of business laws, compliance laws, and regulations.
- Knowledge of business loan processing and loan documentation requirements in North Carolina.
- Ability to produce high volume, high quality output.
- Ability to multi task and work within critical deadlines
- Critical thinking skills to evaluate loan exceptions/stipulations
- Excellent verbal and communication skills to internal and external members
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications including Outlook, Word and Excel
Education and Experience
- Education Required: High School Education
- Education Preferred: Associates or Bachelor’s
- Experience may be substituted for formal education
- Experience Required: 2 years lending experience with 2 years business lending experience
- Experience Preferred: 2 year commercial loan processing including document preparation and funding experience, preferred.
