General Accountability
The primary purpose of this position is to assist Allegacy Federal Credit Union in living out its mission, “to help you make smart financial choices.” To achieve this goal the employee must provide outstanding service to both internal and external members. This position must accurately prepare and deliver closing documents within stated guidelines and timeframes. The results are completing sound loan files, developing a good member/credit union relationship, and increasing credit union assets.
Nature and Scope
TLC Loan Processors will report to the AVP, Lending Development and Delivery. This position must be able to communicate effectively with members, loan interviewers, and underwriters. In processing, the individual will monitor queues and assign loan applications to the TLC Loan Interviewers. The individual will monitor the email box for members’ supporting documentation and upload to the members’ files. In addition, the individual must accurately prepare and deliver closing documents to members’ within allowed timeframes, review signed documents for accuracy and distribute loan funds appropriately. This position is responsible for teller activity on members’ accounts.

- Completion of all required compliance training to include BSA.
- Meet or exceed established goals.
- Must possess effective knowledge of the Credit Union’s products and services.
- Make certain that loan closings are completed on a timely basis, and are consistent with AFCU policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Ensure that proper documentation is forwarded for audit and microfilming promptly.
- Comply with laws, regulations and policies that relate to credit union operations.
- Incorporate AFCU performance attributes in daily work activities along with the willingness and ability to display a professional, courteous and helpful attitude to members (internal as well as external).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Clerical accuracy in handling complicated transactions.
Ability to conduct business in a professional manner, exercising personal discretion and independent judgment, while maintaining compliance with complex policies, laws, and regulations.
Ability to discuss all AFCU’s programs and services.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in respect to the member’s financial affairs.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience within a retail banking environment
Familiarity and proficiency with computers required.
Eligible to be registered as a Mortgage Loan Originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System.
