Summary of Position

The Psychology Department seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August 2025. This position emphasizes applied areas in psychology and could potentially focus on fields such as health psychology, business psychology, industrial-organizational psychology, organizational leadership, community psychology, among others. Candidates with expertise in applied research and practice, particularly those with experience engaging diverse populations and addressing real-world challenges, are strongly encouraged to apply.

A Doctoral degree in Psychology or a closely related discipline is required by the start date. Relevant fields of specialization include, but are not limited to: Health Psychology, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Community Psychology and Organizational Leadership.

The hired candidate must demonstrate: (1) a commitment to (a) undergraduate teaching, (b) the active involvement of undergraduate students in research, and (c) diversity, equity, and inclusion, and (2) expertise in one or more of the specified applied areas.

The teaching load is typically 6 courses per academic year, which may vary depending on advising senior research projects. Courses should include introductory-level courses that support the Psychology program and upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. All faculty are expected to participate in delivering college-wide first-year/sophomore speaking and writing seminars and holistic advising. The successful candidate will provide evidence of excellence in teaching, ongoing scholarship, and professional development.
