Tool & Die Technician-Summer Apprenticeship
Fabrication is a key part of our business. Reporting to the Department Supervisor, a Tool & Die Technician is responsible for fabricating parts to print by using tool room machinery as well as completing the inspection process on parts. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment, this is the role for you. Successful candidates will have some prior experience in fabrication.

Tool & Die Technician-Summer Apprenticeship-Indianapolis, IN
Tool & Die Technician-Summer Apprenticeship
Fabrication is a key part of our business. Reporting to the Department Supervisor, a Tool & Die Technician is responsible for fabricating parts to print by using tool room machinery as well as completing the inspection process on parts. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment, this is the role for you. Successful candidates will have some prior experience in fabrication.
What You Will Do
- Operate mills, lathes, grinders, wire EDM, CNC Mills
- Build and repair fixtures, dies and jigs as needed
- Program and operate CNC equipment.
- Trouble shoot and repair fixtures and tooling as needed
- Reading of blueprints and GD&T
- Fabricate fixtures and work holding tools as needed.
- Use precision tools such as: micrometer, calipers, indicators and set ups on surface plates.
- Experience with Forming and progressive dies a plus
- Experience trouble shooting complex tooling a plus
- High School Diploma or GED required. Working towards Tool and Die degree or related field preferred.
- Ability to apply problem solving techniques
- Organized with strong sense of urgency
- Experience with CAD and CNC programming
- In addition, you ideally bring an ability to establish priorities and effectively manage time to complete duties within specified timeframes, but if not, we will happily provide the training and support you need to be successful!
