Allegria Village is a senior-living community in Dearborn that features Independent Living, Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing all on one campus.
We are currently hiring for a Director of Nursing (DON) in our Assisted Living community.
Job Summary: The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for overseeing all nursing aspects of the Assisted Living Facility, including managing nursing staff, ensuring resident care quality, developing care plans, maintaining compliance with regulations, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide optimal resident health and well-being; essentially acting as the leader of the nursing team within the facility, prioritizing resident safety and quality of care.
Job Responsibilities:
- Directing the nursing program, including implementing new policies and procedures when necessary
- Hiring, training and supervising nursing staff, evaluating staff performance and providing feedback
- Addressing staff concerns and promoting a positive work environment
- Assessing resident needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans.
- Monitoring resident health status, administering medications, and coordinating with physicians.
- Overseeing wound care, infection control and other clinical procedures.
- Ensuring proper documentation of resident care
- Ensuring adherence to all state and federal regulations regarding assisted living care
- Implementing quality improvement initiatives to maintain high standards of care
- Conducting regular resident assessments and care plan reviews
- Investigating resident complaints and taking corrective action
- Communicating effectively with residents, families, physicians and other healthcare professionals
- Collaborating with other departments within the facility, such as activities and dietary
- Providing regular updates on resident health status to families
Qualifications:
- Current registered Nurse (RN) license
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Experience in geriatric nursing and supervisory roles
- Knowledge of assisted living regulations and standards
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be CPR trained and possess a current BLS certification
- Experience using PCC
- Previous DON experience is REQUIRED
