What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookkeeper position at Allegro Realty Advisors?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles. This role will play an important part in supporting all of the administrative and accounting functions of our property management team.
Duties
- Process accounts payable transactions on a daily basis
- Enter tenant rent payments and monitor ledgers for accuracy
- Prepare deposits for remote scanning or branch deposit
- Administer lease renewal and move out administration
- Follow up on late rent collections and manage overdue accounts
- Prepare owner distributions monthly
- Communicate regularly and effectively with clients, tenants, subsidy organizations, and others as needed
- Manage mortgage, property tax and insurance payments for clients
- Handle municipal rental registrations
- Reconcile monthly bank statements and prepare financial reports for clients
- Facilitate utility switchovers when tenants move out
- Track utility usage and charge tenant ledgers
- Enter new leases into database
- Maintain tenant contact information
- Maintain data in property management software, Buildium
- Maintain tenant rent insurance documentation
Education and Experience:
- 1 – 2 years working experience in A/R & A/P
- Associates degree, preferred
- College-level accounting coursework is a plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Proficiency in Excel
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of property management practices and local regulations is a plus.
