What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Clerk position at Alleguard?
Job Summary
To assure all shipments are properly labeled before being loaded on the truck for delivery, all bills of lading are typed, LTL shipments are prepared for pickup, and any other duties as assigned.
Pay: $18 USD/hr
Responsibilities
- Organize BOLs and packing slips from previous day to send to accounting for invoicing
- Create labels for production
- Assign carriers to pick up LTL
- Get freight quotes for sales office
- Handle customer pick-ups
- Answer phone
- Create all shipping documents for current day trucks
- Receive in supplies and customer returns
- Reprint revised shipping documents throughout the day to keep most current one
- Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to perform related computer tasks
- Excellent math and reading skills
- Ability to work productively with minimum supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task
Physical Demands
- Position may require periods of intense physical exertion in conditions of low to high temperatures and humidity
- Position requires the ability to stand, bend, and stretch over extended periods of time during a normal work shift
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
