About The Role:

The ideal candidate for this position will be passionate about their community and providing assistance to those in need, able to effectively solve problems, remain professional while being empathetic to customers’ needs, and consistently meet all expectations relating to the role.

  • Processes interactive interviews with clients to re-determine ongoing eligibility for OWF, Medicaid, and public assistance Food Stamps. Responsible for OWF, Medicaid and Food Stamps caseload (maintained in OBWP system), telephone calls, and client interviews. Refers clients to other Agency units when appropriate (Social Services, STEPS, etc.).
  • Interviews clients to re-determine eligibility for Medicaid and Food Stamps. Conducts interactive interviews.
  • Maintains case data through OBWP and other applicable systems.
  • Completes all forms necessary for maintaining caseload.
  • Completes necessary paperwork for computer matches, desk review, etc.
  • Completes referral forms for overpayments and under issuances.
  • Provides quality customer service and updates cases as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of the position.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Starting pay is $20.74 per hour
  • Up to $0.75 per hour increase after passing probation
  • Additional $0.50 per hour with Associates degree.
  • Additional $1.00 per hour with Bachelors degree.
  • Monday - Friday (37.5 hours per week) 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must have a passion for helping others
  • One course or six-months experience in behavioral science, social science, or customer service techniques; one course or six months experience in business mathematics; one course or six-months experience in business English; one course or six months experience in interviewing techniques; and one course or six-months experience in typing, keyboarding or word processing.
  • Must have the ability to problem-solve and not be intimidated by challenges
  • Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of the position
