What are the responsibilities and job description for the Asphalt Distributor Operator position at Allen Keller Company?
The Allen Keller Company, based in Fredericksburg, TX, is offering an opportunity to join a heavy road construction company as an on the road CDL qualified Asphalt Distributor Operator.
Successful applicants will have a HAZMAT endorsement and at least two years of experience with asphalt paving operations as well as driving & operating the distributor truck. During the winter season, these employees would operate other equipment (loaders, backhoes, rollers, etc.) when not engaged in the paving process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities but are not limited to the following:
- Must have CDL HAZMAT & Tanker endorsement.
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment
- Assist paving crew as needed
- Able to work in adverse weather conditions, hot or cold temperatures
- Have an understanding of asphalt shot rates and the different asphalt types
- Operate other heavy equipment and other construction related duties as required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within the asphalt road construction industry
- 2 to 3 years’ experience operating Asphalt Distributor.
Minimum Skills and Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED Equivalent preferred
- Must be able to perform strenuous activity such as extensive standing/walking, lifting up to 50 lbs.. as well as occasional climbing of stairs and ladders.
- Able to work with and near moving heavy equipment and mechanical parts..
- Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed.
- Must possess a valid commercial driver’s license with HAZMAT & Tanker endorsement.
