We are looking for an Account Development Manager to join our team! If you have the drive and focus for growth and development of accounts and ability to gain an in-depth understanding of our customer needs, let’s talk!
You will:
Contact accounts and draw on your unique skills, abilities and competencies to secure dry, refrigerated and flatbed loads, as well as offer international, TMS and logistics leads, LTL, intermodal, etc.
Develop a strategic plan to track and communicate effectively with accounts and brokers.
Carry out strategies through personal contact, proposal development and presentation, effective follow up and personalized account management.
Work with ALC transportation brokers to maximize the volume of loads through ongoing account development meetings and strategy sessions.
Conduct face to face and phone meetings with accounts to gain their business. When appropriate, schedule meetings and create proposals and presentations. Presentations must be professional and the expertise of our Marketing department should be utilized.
Build loads
Set up carriers
Possess up-to-date personal knowledge of market freight rates in order to determine a “fair” price to pay trucks and charge shippers
Understand market rates
Maximize spot quoting efforts for all accounts
Skills and Experience
Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player who excels in a fast-paced environment
Experience in Freight Brokerage/customer service is a plus
Excellent and effective communication skills
Strong customer service orientation and excellent work ethic
Ability to quickly process information and make decisions
Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills, and ability to handle conflict
Excellent time-management skills with the ability to multitask
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
