What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Port Engineer position at Allen Marine Inc?
Summary : Under the direction of Port Engineer, this position is responsible for performing regular scheduled maintenance duties on all day tour vessels including assisting Captains with oil changes; for assisting Port Engineer with mechanical repairs; and for keeping all parts, filters, and equipment areas on dock stocked, organized and neat.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Must possess current Drivers’ license and have record with no recent violations.
- Applicant should be able to pick up at least 50 pounds in line of duties.
- Be comfortable working around diesel engines.
- Posses some experience with mechanic’s tools.
- Must be self-motivated and be able to work unsupervised.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, some weekends and some holidays.
- Must be drug free (pre-employment screening and enrollment in random drug testing program is Coast Guard required).
- Must be able to work from mid April to the end of September with little or no interruption.
