Allen Turner Automotive of Auburn is looking for a detail-oriented Automotive Payrol Clerk to join our team to help support our three newest locations in Auburn :

  • Responsibilities

  • Collect and verify employee timekeeping data to ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time
  • Calculate and process wages, bonuses, overtime, and other compensation to ensure timely and accurate payroll disbursement
  • Assist in applying and managing payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and other withholdings in compliance with applicable laws and company policies
  • Process washout and spiff transactions for sales staff, ensuring accurate recording and reconciliation in payroll systems
  • Assist in bank reconciliation by resolving any payroll-related discrepancies between records and bank statements
  • Assist in processing floor plan payoffs for vehicle sales transactions, ensuring all related payroll entries are accurate and timely
  • Address employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, benefits, and timekeeping, providing clear and accurate information as needed
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations by staying updated on changes to relevant labor laws
  • Provide general clerical support, including managing mail, ordering supplies, filing, data entry, and assisting with various office tasks to ensure smooth dealership operations
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience in a payroll processing or related role; automotive payroll experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel); familiarity with dealership management systems preferred
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and professional skills to interact effectively with employess, vendors and customers
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage confidential information appropriately
  • Excellent data entry, management, and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy
  • Dependable, professional, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong multitasking and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Collaborative team player with a positive attitude and eagerness to improve
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment background check, MVR check, and drug screen
