What are the responsibilities and job description for the RCM Patient Service Representive Supervisor position at Allergy Partners PLLC?
Proactively work assigned accounts to maximize accurate and timely payment from patient while observing company policies and all applicable laws. Serves as a liaison between RCM Departments to insure accuracy of accounts.
Supervising patient accounts service team
- Answer/respond to calls and/or correspondence related to patient balances.
- Serve as first level escalation for patient calls.
- Analyze and interpret reasons for patient balances.
- Document all work and calls performed (including, but not limited to patient payments by phone) in database system.
- Coordinate patient payment arrangements when possible.
- Researching accounts to include looking at EOBs to insure the account has been handled properly.
- Prepare monthly bad debt file for external collections placement.
- Upload weekly payment file to external collection agency.
- Assist RCM Manager by overseeing the day-to-day operations.
- Coordinate training, setting expectations for the department, and provide feedback on department staff.
- Provide constructive feedback to management concerning the operations and ideas of improvement for the department.
- Provides leadership, guidance and assistance to the team, collaborating with Human Resources and Management Teams on employee matters.
- Provides coaching, completes, and delivers annual reviews and appropriate merit increases for department.
- May support other staff/peers as applicable.
- Completes all assigned AP training (such as CPR, OSHA, HIPAA, Compliance, Information Security, others) within designated timeframes.
- Complies with Allergy Partners and respective hub/department policies and reports incidents of policy violations to a Supervisor/Manager/Director, Department of Compliance & Privacy or via the AP EthicsPoint hotline.
- Models the AP Code of Conduct and demonstrates a commitment to the AP Compliance Program, standards and policies.
Supervising patient accounts service team
- Work complaints and escalations to completion and communicate the results.
- Conduct meetings with the team to answer questions as a part of ongoing training, discuss error trends, process failures and adherence to set processes and procedures.
- Manage schedule for Patient Account Services Team.
- Demonstrate professionalism and promote positive interpersonal relations with all internal and external business contacts, representing the corporation in a positive manner, displaying personal commitment to achieving the goals and objectives of the corporation.
- Maintain patient confidentiality; comply with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice to protect RCM operations by keeping information confidential.
- Maintains detailed knowledge of practice management and other computer software as it relates to job functions.
- Attends all meetings as requested including regular staff meetings.
- Performs any additional duties as requested by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Healthcare or related experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
- Work in a fast-paced office environment, and sit for long periods of time in front of computer while talking on
- the phone throughout entire workday.
- Ability to handle daily stressful situations due to the nature of the job, as well as work independently and stay
- focused on task at hand.
