Patient Services Representative
With a customer service orientation, this role requires registering patients, answering the telephone professionally, and preparing the office for the day. The employee will schedule patient appointments, collect payment at the time of service, and post charges and payments.
Main Responsibilities:
- Register patients and answer telephone calls in a professional manner.
- Schedule patient appointments and provide estimated financial obligations.
- Collect payment and balance transactions daily according to Allergy Partners policy and procedure.
- Maintain office equipment and supplies in the front office areas.
- Respond to medical records requests as necessary.
Additional Duties:
- Schedule patient appointments and explain necessary information to be brought or completed prior to an appointment.
- Provide potential charges for the visit and estimated financial obligation to patients.
- Follow approved scheduling guidelines and prepare/send out all necessary information to patients.
- Ensure registration forms and other patient paperwork are complete and up to date.
- Collection should be made on past due balances as well as current dates of service.
Requirements:
- Minimum two years of experience in a medical office or customer service position.
- Proven success asking for payment, making change, and balancing a cash drawer.
- Comfortable using email, word processing, and interacting with Internet applications.
- Working knowledge of practice management and electronic health record software.
- Bi-lingual is a plus, not required.
