Administrative Assistant - Biologics, Full-time, Birmingham, AL
AllerVie is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support our Biologics team located in Birmingham, Alabama. This position will serve as a liaison between the healthcare Providers, clinic staff, manufacturer hubs, and patients and provide key support to the Biologics Manager and team by following up on the status of patient biologics enrollments, prior authorizations, and prescriptions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist with enrollments and prior authorizations
- Maintain up to date authorization tracker and biologics patient list
- Assist with completing schedule checks weekly
- Coordinate shipments with multiple specialty pharmacies
- Sort incoming faxes for biologics, prioritizing requests and complete in a timely manner
- Send prescriptions accurately and timely
- Report complex biologic issues to Biologics Manager
- Review and understand benefit investigation reports
- Answer and/or return all calls for Biologics
- Stay up to date on insurance policies and drug PI as it relates to biologics
- Monitor inventory levels for buy and bill and samples at each location
- Prepare reports as requested
- Attend and contribute to departmental meetings
- May perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications, Education and Experience:
- High school diploma. Degree or education in healthcare ideal.
- 3-5 years' administrative or coordinator experience in business or medical office preferred
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties.
- Strong attention to detail, time management and organizational skills.
- Comfort reviewing and working with numbers.
- Customer service-focused with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent relationship building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams
- Demonstrates initiative, accountability and adaptability.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience with EMR systems a plus.
