What are the responsibilities and job description for the Credit Analyst position at Alliance Bank?
JPOSITION PURPOSE
This position is responsible for providing assistance to the lending staff in the development, analysis, and monitoring of loan customers. Such assistance may be in the preparation of loan requests, reviewing existing loan files, inspection of collateral, analysis of financial information, and other lending-related functions as required. This employee offers the customer the highest degree of service and promotes all Alliance Bank’s products and services.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Ability to read, write and speak the English language, bilingual helpful.
2. Ability to respond to customers’ requests with tact, diplomacy, and a sense of urgency.
3. Ability to offer Alliance Bank’s products and services.
4. High School diploma (or equivalency) and knowledge of specialized principles that would be obtained through a formal four (4) year academic program, and a minimum of three (3) years experience in a financial institution; or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
5. Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and have the ability to deal with and respond to employees’ requests with tact, diplomacy, and a sense of urgency.
6. Highly detailed-oriented with the ability to organize, schedule, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities as well as certain departmental functions to improve efficiency.
7. Ability to work well under pressure and in a high-stress environment.
8. Requires excellent writing, communication, and reporting skills.
9. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
10. Ability to operate basic office equipment including a PC with job-related software.
11. Previous supervisory and management experience.
12. Ability to handle bank and customer transactions with a high level of confidentiality.
13. Knowledge of state and federal regulations.
14. Knowledge of Alliance Bank’s loan policies and procedures.
15. Knowledge of Alliance Bank’s products and services.
16. Schedules are prepared based on business needs and are subject to change at any time. This may include the need for evenings, weekends, or holiday coverage.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

2. Actively sell and cross-sell bank services.
3. Provide prompt, courteous, and friendly service.
4. Promotes Alliance Bank’s culture through all interactions modeling the Alliance Bank way of Customer Experience.
5. Assist lenders in the preparation of loan presentation packages for Commercial, Agricultural, and Real Estate notes.
6. Utilize a working knowledge of financial statements and income statements and how they interact.
7. Analyze financial statements and income statements for a variety of business types.
8. Create cash flows and stress tests for various types of businesses.
9. Clearly communicate analysis findings in writing for loan presentation.
10. Prepare Financial Statement analysis at the request of lending staff.
11. Assist lending staff with file documentation.
12. Coordinate Directors’ Loan meeting by contacting all applicable members to notify them of the meeting and ascertain their ability to attend.
13. Responsible for taking the minutes for the Bank Loan Committee, the Directors’ Loan Committee, and reviewing the minutes for the Classified Loan Committee, and the Officers Past Due Committee to assure they align with the credit application.
14. Obtaining and sharing customer information.
15. Operate computer and phone system in Bank Loan Committee meetings, Strategic Planning meetings, Directors’ Loan Committee meetings, monthly Board meetings, and other meetings as necessary.
16. Analyze covenants for participated and non-participated credits.
Provide various reports to management and the Board both monthly and quarterly.
Compile data for and assist with special projects.
19. Employee may be issued bank-owned devices (such as cell phones, tablets, and/or laptops). In such cases, the employee is expected to regularly check and respond to phone calls, text messages, and/or emails.
20. Participate in community affairs to increase Alliance Bank’s visibility and to enhance new business opportunities.
21. Keep updated on all laws and regulations and Alliance Bank's policies and procedures pertaining to this position.
