Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our New York State Power Plants adheres to all regulatory requirements and internal policies. Focus will be on regulatory reporting and compliance required by NYSDEC and other related permits and working with plant personnel in data aggregation and quality assurance. Will support plant staff and facilities to ensure full compliance with all environmental rules and regulations
Responsibilities
- Maintains a strong working knowledge of federal, state and local regulatory requirements and recommends action plans for new compliance and regulatory changes. This includes OSHA, Environmental, and NERC requirements.
- Responsible for regulatory compliance and associated reporting.
- Assist with compliance tasks, including but not limited to audit support, compliance with laws, regulations, and CEM standards.
- Identify risk areas and develop short-term and long-term strategies to address them.
- Work with plant-site personnel in data aggregation and quality assurance.
- Lead environmental due diligence, regulatory reporting compliance, licensing and permitting, and new permitting activities for the development of new and or additions to existing facilities.
- Support analyses of the environmental risks, benefits, and potential compliance costs of new project development.
- Compile and submit monthly, quarterly and annual compliance and certification reports.
- Develop and implement internal environmental protocols to ensure compliance during project planning, construction and ongoing operation at various facilities.
- Develop environmental regulatory training programs and execute periodic training for appropriate operating staff.
- Prepare technical material and reports required by various federal, state and local regulatory agencies, public interest groups and consultants.
- Serve as a liaison with environmental regulators and inspectors during inspections and permitting discussions at company facilities.
- Work effectively with other Company departments to understand facility processes and to communicate impact of permits and pending regulations at company facilities.
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary by Senior Management.
- Prepare reports for management regarding compliance status, findings from audits, and recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in engineering or Science.
- 5- years of power plant compliance experience.
- Working knowledge of regulations pertaining to federal, state, local, OSHA, NERC and other compliance entities.
- Minimum 8-10 years experience in power generation industry.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and other industry software.
- Maintain confidentiality of company information and financial data.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
- Organized and strong attention to detail.
- Must be willing to travel 25% of time, across NYS.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
